There’s something liberating about not holding anything too tightly. I fight the tendency of making an image so precious that it can’t be messed with. Painting an iridescent “X” in the sky of a nice landscape was that for me. “X” marks the spot - a compass point in the heavens that connects the boat-on-dry-ground to all realms but the obvious one it was made for. And yet, all is good.
The "x" shows up in certain light only. You have to see the original to appreciate the glory of it.
