Who Has Seen The Wind?
24x36 acrylic, music scores on canvas

When God created the horse, he said to the magnificent creature, “I have made thee as no other. All the treasures of the earth lie between thine eyes. Thou shalt carry my friends upon thine back. Thy saddle shall be the seat of prayers to me. And thou shalt fly without wings, and conquer without sword, oh Horse!” ― Anonymous
My fascination with the Friesian horse comes from having encountered them while exploring the land of my parents’ origins, Friesland, some years ago. This breed stands alone, it seems, and rightly fits the expansive description above. A noble mare looks into the wind and listens intently. Scraps of music scores glazed under the paint suggests that, as the horse gazes into this dynamic world, she hears something deeper and truer.
